On All Saints’ Day we should revive the memories of our beloved, passed-away relatives… But this year, Sunday 1 November 2009, a bunch of alive and kicking myths and legends from the 80’s will be reunited in the Hasselt Ethias Arena.

A real mix mainly culled from the LP’s Talk Talk Talk, Mirror Moves and Forever Now, with a couple of nuggets from Richard Butlers “other” band “Love Spit Love“. The very underated LP World Outside’s In My Head gets a very welcome airing. All in all a superb mix.

Mars Williams
Mars Williams first played sax with the Furs during the American leg of their 1983 Forever Now tour. He has since been a semi-permanent member of the band ever since. Recording-wise, he featured on both Mirror Moves and Midnight To Midnight albums.
Mars is a versatile American jazz and rock saxophonist. Mars started out as an arranger and orchestrator, studying under the mentorship of Anthony Braxton and Roscoe Mitchell. He is a veteran musician who has played with various bands and recording artists including the Psychedelic Furs, Massacre, Ministry, Billy Idol, Power Station, Die Warzau, The Waitresses, Pete Cosey, Billy Squier, and a lot of leading figures in the NYC downtown scene. He also toured and recorded with the Peter Brotzmann Tentet, the Vandermark 5, and Cinghiale, Mark Freeland’s Electroman, and is the bandleader of several spin-off jazz groups/projects: Liquid Soul, NRG Ensemble, Witches & Devils, Slam, and XmarsX. Despite his busy schedule with Liquid Soul, he managed to also stay active in the Chicagoan improvisational jazz underground scene.
Guitarist of The Pleased and Kings and Queens is filling in on guitar duties in the absence of original Furs lead guitarist John Ashton.
