Delighted to say John Ashton’s (and his cast of many) Satellite Paradiso’s Pledge page is now live. you can help get his new project up off the ground by making a small Pledge (and there are other “goodies” as well as the music). I use the auld Scots addage “mony a mickle maks a muckle”… which roughly translates to “from many small things, can there be one BIG thing!” :). Just click on the Pledge icon to access the PledgeMusic site.

Great audience recording of The Furs classic track “Pretty in Pink” live from the Hard Rock Cafe, Las Vegas. The Furs are now a few nights into their mammoth 40 night US tour. As well as the excellent new track Little Miss World they’ve added a few early tracks from their debut LP - one of which I don’t think has been played live since about 1981!
What better way than to kick off Lord Richard Butler’s birthday than a new Psychedelic Furs track! On FOX5 Vegas - Little Miss World!
A short pre-tour interview with founder member bass player Tim Butler can be found on the KSSI 102.7 Irock website. While not naming tracks he suggests that this tour will have a couple of new songs and also some of the more “obscure” tracks from the Furs back catalogue. Interview can be found here
Some “never been seen by my eyes ever before” video has just cropped up on youtube. Two tracks- Sister Europe and Sleep Comes Down - performed live on German TV , 1984.
Richard’s hair hasn’t quite got the 80’s curling tong treatment as yet..
An excellent video documentary/short film on Richard Butler the “artist” as opposed to Richard the “musician” that we all know and love.
In this short film Richard allows us into his studio at his home in Beacon, New York, and he discusses the cycle of how his paintings emerge from inception and the often iterative progression that ensues.
On a completely different note - nice choice of drinking vessel and also good to see a cute pussy on his armchair.
The film was created by Imagista and their website be found here
